SSO (Single Sign-On) Login and RetailOS App Login are two different methods RetailOS can facilitated for access and they differ in how user authentication is handled.
SSO (Single Sign-On) Login
SSO allows users to log in once to a centralised authentication platform, usually a clients corporate network, and then access multiple connected applications or systems including RetailOS without needing to log in again for each one.
How it works:
- Centralised Authentication Platform: The user logs in to a central SSO platform hosted on a corporate network (such as Azure AD, Okta, etc.), where their credentials are validated.
- Access to multiple services: Once logged in to the SSO platform, users can seamlessly access other applications, including RetailOS, without needing to re-enter their credentials. The SSO platform handles the authentication across all integrated systems.
Not sure if you're using SSO? If you're uncertain whether your organization uses an SSO platform or if your RetailOS login should be handled through SSO, please reach out to your internal IT team for clarification and further assistance.
Forgotten your SSO login credentials? If you're experiencing issues logging in via SSO because you’ve forgotten your SSO credentials, please contact your internal IT team or the team that manages your SSO platform. They will be able to assist you with resetting your login credentials or help you regain access.
RetailOS App Login
RetailOS App login requires users to log in individually to the RetailOS application itself with a unique set of credentials (e.g., username and password) specifically for that app.
How it works:
- Separate logins: For each session in the RetailOS app, the user needs to enter their credentials (username and password) to authenticate.
- No centralized authentication: RetailOS App login is independent of a centralised platform, so the separate login credentials for the specific RetailOS app must be remembered by the user.
Forgotten your RetailOS login credentials? If you’re experiencing issues logging in through RetailOS App Login and have forgotten your credentials, there are a few options to regain access:
- Ask a user with Administrator access to reset your password within RetailOS. They can perform this action on your behalf through the Admin panel.
- Request the Red Ant Service Desk team to reset your login credentials. When submitting a request to the Service Desk, ensure you include the following details in your ticket:
- Full name
- Email address
- Username
- Associated store(s)
Still having issues? If you still have questions or ongoing issues with password resets, please contact the Red Ant Service Desk team for further assistance.
